RNP Antibody details
Description
RNP (ribonucleoprotein) antibodies are autoantibodies associated most strongly with mixed connective tissue disease, a condition that shares overlapping features of lupus, scleroderma, and myositis, and high levels of RNP antibodies are actually part of the diagnostic criteria for that condition. RNP antibodies can also appear in lupus itself, sometimes without the specific overlap features of mixed connective tissue disease. It's typically tested as part of a broader autoimmune antibody panel, interpreted alongside your symptoms and other antibody results.
