BiomarkersLabcorp biomarkers
- Apolipoprotein A-1 The main protein component of HDL ('good') cholesterol. Higher levels are generally associated with better cardiovascular protection.
- Apolipoprotein B The main protein found on LDL and other 'bad' cholesterol particles. Considered a strong indicator of cardiovascular risk, since each particle carries one ApoB molecule.
- Lipoprotein(a) A genetically-determined, LDL-like particle. Elevated levels are an independent, largely inherited risk factor for cardiovascular disease.
