Description

This test measures the level of gastrin in the blood. It is primarily used for diagnosing and monitoring gastrin-secreting tumors, such as gastrinomas, which are associated with Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Elevated gastrin levels can also indicate conditions like gastric ulcers or pernicious anemia. It is a valuable tool in the differential diagnosis of hypergastrinemia-related disorders.
