The CD4:CD8 Ratio Profile measures the percentage and absolute counts of CD4+ and CD8+ cells, along with their ratio. This test is valuable for assessing and monitoring immune system function, as changes in these cell counts and ratios can indicate alterations in immune status.
Biomarkers
- Basophils (%) The percentage of your white blood cells that are basophils, a cell type involved in allergic and inflammatory responses.
- CD4/CD8 Ratio Compares two types of immune T-cells. Used to assess immune system balance, especially in HIV monitoring and some autoimmune or infectious conditions.
- Eosinophils (%) The percentage of your white blood cells that are eosinophils, elevated with allergies, asthma, or parasitic infections.
- Hematocrit The percentage of your blood volume made up of red blood cells. Used to help diagnose anemia or polycythemia (excess red blood cells).
- Hemoglobin The oxygen-carrying protein in your red blood cells. A core marker for diagnosing anemia and other blood disorders.
- Immature Granulocytes (%) The percentage of young, not-yet-mature white blood cells in circulation — a rise can be an early sign of infection or bone marrow stress.
