SARS-CoV-2 IgG details
Description
This test specifically measures IgG antibodies to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, indicating past infection, vaccination, or both. IgG antibodies generally develop within a few weeks of infection or vaccination and can persist for months afterward, though levels naturally decline over time and don't perfectly predict ongoing protection against reinfection, which is also influenced by evolving virus variants and individual immune factors.
