Adiponectin details

Description

Adiponectin is a hormone released by fat cells that plays a somewhat counterintuitive role: unlike most fat-derived hormones, higher adiponectin levels are generally a sign of better metabolic health, while lower levels are associated with obesity, insulin resistance, and increased cardiovascular risk. It helps regulate how your body uses glucose and breaks down fatty acids, essentially improving insulin sensitivity. Because levels tend to be lower in people with more visceral (abdominal) fat and higher in people who are lean and metabolically healthy, adiponectin is sometimes used as an additional marker in evaluating metabolic syndrome or cardiovascular risk alongside more standard tests like glucose, insulin, and lipid panels.

Why Hyperpigmentation Happens Even Without Sun Exposure

Hyperpigmentation is one of the most misunderstood skin problems because most people still believe it starts with the sun.
