Description

This ratio compares your total cholesterol to your HDL ('good') cholesterol, giving a quick, single-number snapshot of overall cardiovascular risk balance — a lower ratio generally reflects a more favorable balance between total cholesterol and the protective HDL fraction. Like other lipid ratios, it's typically considered alongside your individual LDL, HDL, and triglyceride values, and your broader cardiovascular risk factors, rather than used as a standalone number to guide decisions.
