Small LDL-P details

This measures the number of small, dense LDL particles in your blood, part of an advanced, particle-based lipid panel. Small LDL particles are considered especially prone to penetrating artery walls and getting trapped there, contributing to plaque formation, making them a higher-risk subtype compared to larger, more buoyant LDL particles carrying the same total cholesterol. A pattern dominated by small LDL particles is commonly seen with insulin resistance, high triglycerides, and metabolic syndrome, and this measurement adds detail beyond a standard LDL cholesterol result alone.
