Description
This antibody indicates immunity to measles (rubeola), whether from a past infection or from vaccination (typically the MMR vaccine). A positive result generally confirms you're protected against measles, which is highly contagious and can cause serious complications, particularly in young children, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems. It's commonly checked to confirm immunity status, for example before international travel to areas with measles outbreaks, during pregnancy planning, or in certain healthcare and school employment/enrollment requirements.
