LD Isoenzyme 3 details
Description
LD isoenzyme 3 is a specific form of lactate dehydrogenase found predominantly in the lungs and several other tissues. It's one of five LD isoenzymes that can be separated out when a more detailed breakdown of an elevated total LDH result is needed, though isoenzyme fractionation is used far less commonly today than in the past, given the availability of more specific, tissue-targeted tests.
