Description
Hepatitis B surface antibody indicates immunity to hepatitis B, developed either from successful vaccination or from having recovered from a past infection. A positive result generally means you're protected against future hepatitis B infection. It's commonly checked to confirm vaccine effectiveness (particularly in healthcare workers or others at higher occupational exposure risk) or as part of a full hepatitis B panel when working out someone's overall infection and immunity status.
